FTP Navigator Tutorial: How to Connect, Upload, and Manage Files

FTP Navigator is a lightweight, Windows-based file transfer protocol (FTP) client. It provides an intuitive, side-by-side interface for managing files between a local computer and a remote server.

This tutorial covers how to establish a server connection, transfer data, and manage remote file systems. 🛠️ Step 1: Establish a Server Connection

To interact with a remote server, add and save connection credentials in the FTP Navigator Site Profile Manager.

Launch the software: Open FTP Navigator on the local computer.

Access Profile Manager: Click Connect in the top left corner.

Add a new site: Click Add Server (or New Site) inside the Site Profile Manager.

Enter connection details: Fill out the required configuration fields: FTP Server: Enter the domain name or IP address. Port: Use 21 for standard FTP connections. Username: Enter the FTP account user name. Password: Enter the matching account password.

Save and establish connection: Click Save to store settings. Highlight the site and click Connect.

The side-by-side workspace allows you to transfer data between directories.

Target the destination: In the right panel, double-click to open the target remote folder.

Locate source files: In the left panel, navigate to the local files or folders.

Execute transmission: Click Upload above the local window pane. You can also drag and drop items from the left pane to the right pane.
